Highly Efficient Clinical Trials (HECT) in Global Health
Nov 26, 2018 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm
700-828 W. 10 Ave., VGH Research Pavilion
Clinical trials conducted in the global health context are frequently inefficient, wasteful, and fail to reach useable conclusions. Borrowing from different fields, in particular, oncology and the pharmaceutical industry, we demonstrate the role of applying simulations and adaptive clinical trials with a focus on platform clinical trials applied to the global health. We discuss the innovations being applied within the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and examples where these approaches are being utilized in some of the largest trials occurring anywhere today.
- Key concepts of Highly Efficient Clinical Trials
- Understanding platform clinical trials
- Introduction to tools available
C2E2 Rounds are presented Mondays from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm in room 700 of the VGH Research Pavilion, 828 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC.
