The Global Movement to Universal Health Coverage and Some Observations About Canada and Other Countries
Sep 9, 2019 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm
700-828 W. 10 Ave., VGH Research Pavilion
This talk will review conceptual elements of the current global inclusion of universal health coverage (UHC) as part of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) that countries are committed to achieving by 2035. It will then examine how these concepts may be applied to countries at different levels of income, with reference to Canada, and middle and lower income countries. From this talk participants should learn: how has UHC been defined globally and how is this definition applicable to countries at different levels of economic development; how UHC is being assessed in international comparisons; what implications this may have for thinking about Canada’s UHC achievement; what implications this may have for other countries with middle and lower level incomes.
C2E2 Rounds are presented Mondays from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm in room 700 of the VGH Research Pavilion, 828 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC.
